Lovely ballerinas from Gabor! The gathered rounded toe box is the highlight of this model! The patent leather is surprisingly soft and not as stiff as it often is in shoes. The buckle strap over the instep has an elastic insert on the inner side and adjustment room with five holes. The strap keeps the shoes comfortably and securely on the foot. The buckle on the strap features a lovely diamond detail! The toe box is foot-shaped, like in barefoot shoes. This way, the toes fit comfortably inside the shoes. Beautiful versatile shoes, perfect for everyday wear or special occasions, with skirts or pants!

Maria the merchant’s medium-width feet – details:

  • Not a high instep and not a low instep
  • A “flipper” shape, meaning the toes are almost equally long, with no pronounced curve at the toe line 😊
  • A slightly rounded toe box suits best; very pointed shapes often don’t have enough room for Maria’s big toe
  • Usually wears size 43, with a medium-wide G last or a wide H last
  • In barefoot shoes, typically size 42, because there’s enough room for the toes
  • Length of the longer foot 26.8 cm
  • Width at the ball of the foot 11 cm

It was a surprise for Maria that these shoes, marked as a somewhat narrow F last, felt nicely snug in width for her in size 43. So they didn’t feel wide, but not narrow either—just right. That’s why the last definition is "F half," meaning something between a narrow F last and a medium-wide G last. The shape of the toe box also matters a lot; in this model, the toe box is foot-shaped, like in barefoot shoes. This way, Maria’s toes fit comfortably in the shoes. Size 42.5 also fit Maria’s foot, but her choice would still be size 43, which had a bit more width. Lovely and beautiful shoes!
