We siblings are currently living our busy years, and the age distribution of our four small shopkeepers is currently from three to 11 years. So there are plenty of activities and hobbies in our families! Therefore, at this stage, we do not "lock in" our opening hours, but we will announce the opening hours of the warehouse store one week at a time on the store's front door and here on our website. So please remember to always check our opening hours before you head out! 😊
In our store, you will most likely get to meet Kauppiaskoira-Peppi as well. Peppi loves to be petted and is happy to act as the top taste tester. Occasionally, Peppi also takes well-deserved breaks and rests in her own bed in the back room or behind the cash register.
To start with our strategic dimensions, it is worth mentioning the most important ones, namely that Maria the merchant's shoe size is 43 and Sanna the merchant's is 40. You can read more about our feet and feelings regarding the shoes on the product's own pages.
Close to our hearts is the idea that beautiful shoes are meant for everyone. That’s why we include in our women's shoe selection models only from brands that offer the widest possible range of sizes. This means in addition to sizes 36–41, we also want either small sizes (33–35) or large sizes (42–46). Or ideally, both ends! Our principle is to take all sizes that are produced from the models we choose. In this way, we continue Bellissima's original idea as a specialty store for small and large women's shoes.
We also try our best to find shoes in various widths. Many of us Finns have wide feet, but there are also some narrow-footed individuals among us. Each of us also has our own feelings about shoes. Even if feet are exactly the same size, the sensations can be very different between different people. We also share our own experiences with shoe models on our product pages in the online store, in case they would help in choosing shoes. Our dream would be to own our own shoe factory, where we could always make shoes that fit according to the customer's own measurements and wishes!
A brief history is also in order. The story of Bellissima originally began in the center of Helsinki in the early 2000s. At that time, the selection included only small (32–35) and large sizes (42–46) of women's shoes. In 2019, Maria became a merchant of Bellissima, Sanna joined as a partner in 2020, and thus the legendary concept was born: the Bellissima merchant sisters. 🤩 We are the fourth entrepreneurs in the history of Bellissima.
In 2021, we expanded our selection to include children's shoes, particularly those recommended in children's shoes. Barefoot shoes meet current recommendations with their flexible soles and good toe space shaped for the foot. Most of our children's shoe selection consists of barefoot shoes. We started with two still-popular brands, Froddo and Affenzahn. Since then, we have added shoes and rubber boots from Bundgaard, the lovely shoes from D.D.Step, and Slipstop slippers. The newest brand in our selection is the lovely Yoyo Junior slippers for the little ones in the family.
"Along our journey, we have not only updated our logo but also our selection of women's shoes. The old familiar and well-proven brands Remonte and Gabor have remained with us at Bellissima and continue to be strong players. Over the years, we have discovered new wonderful brands, such as Andrea Conti and Chantana, Vintro, Laura Vita, and Andres Machado, not to mention. Unfortunately, we have also had to part ways with some brands, sometimes making tough decisions based on numbers and sometimes due to brands ceasing the production of special sizes."
Well, this is what trading is like! 😊 That's why we love our work, as every day is different. We always think we've seen it all, but new things always come up to solve.
