Maria the merchant’s medium-width feet – details:
- Not a high instep and not a low instep
- A “flipper” shape, meaning the toes are almost equally long, with no pronounced curve at the toe line 😊
- A slightly rounded toe box suits best; very pointed shapes often don’t have enough room for Maria’s big toe
- Usually wears size 43, with a medium-wide G last or a wide H last
- In barefoot shoes, typically size 42, because there’s enough room for the toes

Maria's foot fit size 43, but it felt a bit tight. Andres Machado's shoes are gorgeous, but narrow in width and snug in sizing. Maria's choice would be size 44. The toe has length thanks to the pointed shape, but width-wise it was okay. The patent leather doesn't stretch or mold much, so a bigger size would be better for that reason too. With a half insole and adjusting the strap, a little extra room can be easily fixed. Such gorgeous shoes!
