The Barefoot Up collection is designed to offer even more room for both the toes and the instep. The wide toe box lets toes move naturally, while the zero-drop sole and highly flexible outsole support the foot’s natural movement. The shoes are very lightweight, so they feel comfortable on your feet all day long.

Water-repellent nubuck leather and a waterproof TEX membrane help keep feet dry in changeable autumn weather. The highly grippy Lifolit outsole offers confidence even in slightly slippery conditions, while reflective details improve visibility in low light.

The removable microfiber insole is antibacterial and breathable, adding to the comfort. This style is best suited to normal and wide feet, as well as higher insteps.

  • Inside the shoe (between the upper and lining materials) is a waterproof and breathable Froddo-TEX membrane. In practice, the membrane is a pouch that runs all the way around the shoe and up to the top of the shaft, and its seams are taped. You can check the height of the pouch's upper edge in the membrane pockets next to the tongue.
  • Shoes with a waterproof membrane should only be treated with products recommended for tex-membrane shoes. New shoes don't need pretreatment, but can be protected with a dirt-repellent spray if desired

💖 PLEASE NOTE THAT TEX-MEMBRANE SHOES ARE NOT THE SAME AS RUBBER BOOTS! 💖 Tex-membrane shoes treated with a waterproofing spray keep water out very well up to a certain point. However, once the shoes are completely soaked, even the “effectiveness” of the tex membrane between the upper and lining materials may no longer be enough. If rain is forecast or you expect to spend a long time outdoors in wet weather, it's best to wear reliably waterproof rubber boots.

• Not a high instep and not a low instep
• A “flipper” shape, meaning the toes are almost equally long, with no pronounced curve at the toe line 😊
• A slightly rounded toe box suits best; very pointed shapes often don’t have enough room for Maria’s big toe
• Usually wears size 43, with a medium-wide G last or a wide H last
• In barefoot shoes, typically size 42, because there’s enough room for the toes
• Length of the longer foot 26.3 cm
• Width at the ball of the foot 10.8 cm

Size 42 in this barefoot shoe model fit Maria's foot exceptionally well! The shoe is so wide, and the toe box follows the natural curve of the toes, so size 42 is more than enough for Maria. In non-barefoot shoes, Maria usually wears size 42.5-43, depending on the width of the shoe. The toes of non-barefoot shoes are usually more or less pointed, which takes up space at the front, so Maria has to choose a larger size. In this new Up model, there seemed to be almost too much room at the front for Maria's foot. There's plenty of width and height! 👌😊
