The Barefoot Up collection is designed to provide even more room for both the toes and the instep. The wide toe box allows the toes to move naturally, while the zero-drop sole and highly flexible outsole support the foot’s natural movement. The shoes are extremely lightweight, so they feel comfortable on your feet even all day long.

Water-repellent nubuck leather and the waterproof TEX membrane help keep feet dry in changeable autumn weather. The highly grippy Lifolit outsole provides confidence in slightly slippery conditions, while the reflective details improve visibility in low light.

The removable microfiber insole is antibacterial and breathable, increasing comfort. The model is best suited to normal and wide feet, as well as higher insteps.

  • Inside the shoe (between the upper and lining materials) is a waterproof and breathable Froddo-TEX membrane. In practice, the membrane is a bag that extends around the entire shoe up to the shaft, and the seams of the bag are taped. You can check the height of the bag’s upper edge in the membrane pockets running alongside the tongue.
  • Shoes with a waterproof membrane should only be treated with products recommended for tex-membrane shoes. New shoes do not require pre-treatment, but can optionally be protected with a dirt-repellent spray

💖 PLEASE NOTE THAT TEX-MEMBRANE SHOES ARE NOT THE SAME AS RUBBER BOOTS! 💖 Tex-membrane shoes treated with a waterproofing spray keep water out very well up to a certain point. However, once the shoes become completely soaked, even the tex membrane between the upper and lining materials may no longer be enough. When rain is forecast or you know you will be spending a long time in wet conditions, it is best to wear reliably waterproof rubber boots.

Maria the merchant’s medium-width feet – details:

• Not a high instep and not a low instep
• A “flipper” shape, meaning the toes are almost equally long, with no pronounced curve at the toe line 😊
• A slightly rounded toe box suits best; very pointed shapes often don’t have enough room for Maria’s big toe
• Usually wears size 43, with a medium-wide G last or a wide H last
• In barefoot shoes, typically size 42, because there’s enough room for the toes
• Length of the longer foot 26.3 cm
• Width at the ball of the foot 10.8 cm

A size 42 of this barefoot shoe model was absolutely perfect for Maria’s foot! The width is so generous and the toe box follows the natural curve of the toes, so size 42 fits Maria perfectly. In non-barefoot shoes, Maria’s size is usually 42.5–43, depending on the width of the shoe last. In shoes other than barefoot shoes, the toe box is usually more or less pointed, taking up space at the front and forcing Maria to choose a larger size. In this new Up model, the toe box seemed to have almost too much room for Maria’s foot. There is plenty of width and height! 👌😊
