Barefoot shoes - winter boots, Up Tex Core - brown leather

A stylish new Up Tex Core winter boot from Froddo! Up Tex Core is an updated, roomier version of the familiar Tex Laces model. This model is slightly wider, and the toe shape is flatter, giving the toes more room. There is also more height over the instep, and the laces let you adjust the fit comfortably. These lovely dark brown leather barefoot shoes are warm thanks to their wool lining, and the tex membrane also keeps toes dry. There is a zipper on the inside of the shoes for easier putting on. The flexible Lifolit® outsole bends in every direction without slipping, and provides good grip in winter conditions. Great shoes for winter adventures!

  • Inside the shoe (between the upper and lining) is a waterproof and breathable Froddo-TEX membrane. The membrane is essentially a bootie that extends all the way up the shoe shaft, and its seams are taped. The height of the top edge of the bootie can be checked in the membrane pockets next to the tongue.
  • Shoes with a waterproof membrane should only be treated with products recommended for tex-membrane shoes. New shoes do not require pretreatment, but can be protected with a dirt-repellent spray if desired.

💖 PLEASE NOTE THAT TEX-MEMBRANE SHOES ARE NOT THE SAME AS RUBBER BOOTS! 💖 Tex-membrane shoes treated with a waterproofing spray keep water out very well up to a certain point. But once the shoes are completely soaked, the “performance” of the tex membrane between the upper and lining may no longer be enough. If rain is forecast or you’ll be spending a long time outdoors in wet weather, it’s best to wear fully waterproof rubber boots.

Maria the merchant’s medium-width feet – details:

• Not a high instep and not a low instep
• A “flipper” shape, meaning the toes are almost equally long, with no pronounced curve at the toe line 😊
• Usually wears size 43, with a medium-wide G last or a wide H last
• Length of the longer foot 26.5 cm
• Width at the ball of the foot 10.8 cm

Size 42 in this barefoot shoe style fits Maria’s feet absolutely perfectly! The last is so wide, and the toe box follows the natural curve of the toes, so size 42 is more than enough for Maria. Size 41 fit too, but Maria likes a little more room for her toes. The width felt very generous. In non-barefoot shoes, Maria usually wears size 42.5-43, depending on the width of the last. In non-barefoot shoes, the toes are usually more or less pointed, which takes up space at the front, so Maria has to choose a larger size.
