Barefoot shoes - winter boots, Up Tex Core - black leather

Introducing Froddo's stylish new Up Tex Core winter shoe! Up Tex Core is an updated, roomier version of the familiar Tex Laces model. This all-black model is slightly wider, with a flatter toe shape that gives the toes more room. There's also more height over the instep, and the laces let you adjust the fit comfortably. These lovely leather barefoot shoes are warm thanks to their wool lining, and the TEX membrane keeps toes dry. A zipper on the inside of each shoe makes them easier to put on. The flexible Lifolit® outsole bends in every direction without slipping, providing reliable grip in winter. Great shoes for all your winter adventures!

  • The shoe has a waterproof and breathable Froddo-TEX membrane inside (between the upper and lining). The membrane is essentially a bag that extends around the entire shoe up to the ankle, with taped seams. You can check the height of the bag's upper edge in the membrane pockets next to the tongue.
  • Shoes with a waterproof membrane should only be cared for using products recommended for TEX membrane shoes. New shoes do not require pretreatment, but can be protected with a dirt-repellent spray if desired.

💖 PLEASE NOTE THAT SHOES WITH A TEX MEMBRANE ARE NOT THE SAME AS RUBBER BOOTS! 💖 Shoes with a TEX membrane treated with a water-repellent spray keep water out very well up to a certain point. But once the shoes are soaked through, even the “effectiveness” of the TEX membrane between the upper and lining may no longer be enough. If rain is forecast or you’ll be spending a long time outdoors in wet weather, it’s best to wear fully waterproof rubber boots.

Maria the merchant’s medium-width feet – details:

• Not a high instep and not a low instep
• A “flipper” shape, meaning the toes are almost equally long, with no pronounced curve at the toe line 😊
• Usually wears size 43, with a medium-wide G last or a wide H last
• Length of the longer foot 26.5 cm
• Width at the ball of the foot 10.8 cm

Size 42 in this barefoot shoe model was absolutely perfect for Maria! The last is so wide and the toe box follows the natural curve of the toes, so size 42 fits Maria wonderfully. Size 41 also fit, but Maria likes a little extra room in the toe box. The width felt very generous. In non-barefoot shoes, Maria usually wears size 42.5-43, depending on the width of the last. In non-barefoot shoes, the toe is usually more or less pointed, taking up room at the front, so Maria has to choose a larger size.
