  • There is a waterproof and breathable Froddo-TEX membrane inside the shoe, between the upper and lining. The membrane is essentially a bag that extends all the way around the shoe up to the shaft, with taped seams. You can check the height of the top edge of the bag in the membrane pockets alongside the tongue.
  • Shoes with a waterproof membrane should only be cared for with products recommended for tex-membrane shoes. New shoes do not need to be pre-treated, but can be protected with a dirt-repellent spray if desired.

💖 PLEASE NOTE THAT SHOES WITH A TEX MEMBRANE ARE NOT THE SAME AS RUBBER BOOTS! 💖 Shoes with a tex membrane treated with a waterproofing spray keep water out very well up to a certain point. But once the shoes are soaking wet, the “effectiveness” of the tex membrane between the upper and lining may no longer be enough. If rain is forecast or you’ll be spending a long time outdoors in wet weather, it’s best to wear fully waterproof rubber boots.

• Usually wears size 43, with a medium-wide G last or a wide H last

Size 42 in this barefoot shoe model fits Maria perfectly! The last is so wide and the toe box follows the natural curve of the toes, so size 42 is just right for Maria. Size 41 also fit, but Maria likes a little more room at the toes, so she chooses size 42. In non-barefoot shoes, Maria usually wears size 42.5-43, depending on the width of the last. Non-barefoot shoes usually have a more or less pointed toe, which takes up space at the front, so Maria has to choose a larger size.
