Wool slippers - light gray wool felt, Ester-Erik

Warm and comfortable Shepherd of Sweden wool slippers! These beautiful light-gray wool felt slippers have a leather insole with memory foam that molds to the shape of the foot. The slippers therefore conform to the foot really nicely! The rubber outsole is flexible and provides good grip, so you can even pop outside to the mailbox in them. The slippers also suit wider feet and barefoot shoe wearers well thanks to their foot-shaped toe box. (Note: The sole of the shoes is not a barefoot shoe sole, however, but thicker.)

Maria the merchant’s medium-width feet – details:

• Not a high instep and not a low instep
• A “flipper” shape, meaning the toes are almost equally long, with no pronounced curve at the toe line 😊
• A slightly rounded toe box suits best; very pointed shapes often don’t have enough room for Maria’s big toe
• Usually wears size 42.5–43, medium G width or wide H width
• In barefoot shoes, typically size 42, because there’s enough room for the toes
• Length of the longer foot: 26.5 cm
• Width at the ball of the foot: 10.8 cm

Maria’s feet fell right between sizes 42 and 43 in this Ester-Erik model. Size 42 felt just right for Maria without an insole, but size 43 felt too large without an additional insole. 😊 A slightly thinner insole than the original one might fit in size 42. In any case, these are truly lovely, soft, warm, and lightweight slippers!

Sanna the merchant’s narrow/medium-width feet – details:

• Not a high instep and not a low instep
• The toes form a gentle diagonal line – the tips go in "length order" 😊
• Usually wears size 40, sometimes 39 or 41 depending on the model
• Slightly narrow F width or medium G width
• Length of the longer foot: 25.5 cm
• Width at the ball of the foot: 10 cm

Size 40 felt suitable for Sanna in every way, both in length and width. The heel slipped a little, but not too badly. Lovely, comfortable slippers!

Jaana’s narrow feet – details:

• Not a high instep and not a low instep
• Usually wears size 38.5 or 39
• Slightly narrow F width feels best
• Length of the longer foot: 24.3 cm
• Width at the ball of the foot: 9.8 cm

Jaana had the same issue as Maria: her feet fell somewhat between sizes. Size 38 felt too snug for Jaana, while size 39 was again too large. An insole could of course make size 39 fit better. Nice slippers for all kinds of occasions!
