Froddo Barefoot Up Trail Tex is a great choice when you’re looking for a lightweight, waterproof, and comfortable barefoot ankle boot for cooler autumn days and outdoor activities. The deep petrol blue is a nature-inspired shade that is perfect for autumn adventures.

The Barefoot Up collection is designed to provide even more room for both the toes and the instep. The wide toe box allows the toes to move naturally, while the zero-drop sole and highly flexible outsole support the foot’s natural movement. The shoes are extremely lightweight, so they feel comfortable on your feet even all day long.

Water-repellent nubuck leather and a waterproof TEX membrane help keep feet dry in changeable autumn weather. The grippy Lifolit outsole provides confidence in somewhat slippery conditions, while reflective details improve visibility in low light.

The removable microfiber insole is antibacterial and breathable, adding to the wearing comfort. The model is best suited to medium-width and wide feet, as well as higher insteps.

  • Inside the shoe, between the upper and lining materials, there is a waterproof and breathable Froddo-TEX membrane. In practice, the membrane is a bootie that extends around the entire shoe up to the ankle, with taped seams. The height of the bootie’s upper edge can be checked from the membrane pockets running beside the tongue.
  • Shoes with a waterproof membrane should only be treated with products recommended for TEX-membrane footwear. A new shoe does not require pre-treatment, but it can optionally be protected with a dirt-repellent spray

💖 PLEASE NOTE THAT SHOES WITH A TEX MEMBRANE ARE NOT THE SAME AS RUBBER BOOTS! 💖 Tex-membrane shoes treated with a waterproofing spray repel water very well up to a certain point. However, once the shoes become completely soaked, even the “effectiveness” of the TEX membrane between the upper and lining materials may no longer be sufficient. When rain is forecast or you will be spending a prolonged period outdoors in wet conditions, it is best to wear reliably waterproof rubber boots.

Maria the merchant’s medium-width feet – details:

• Not a high instep and not a low instep
• A “flipper” shape, meaning the toes are almost equally long, with no pronounced curve at the toe line 😊
• A slightly rounded toe box suits best; very pointed shapes often don’t have enough room for Maria’s big toe
• Usually wears size 43, with a medium-wide G last or a wide H last
• In barefoot shoes, typically size 42, because there’s enough room for the toes
• Length of the longer foot 26,3 cm
• Width at the ball of the foot 10,8 cm

Size 42 of this barefoot shoe model was an absolutely perfect fit For Maria. The last is so wide and the toe box follows the natural curve of the toes, so size 42 is more than sufficient For Maria. In non-barefoot shoes, Maria’s size is usually 42.5–43, depending on the width of the last. In shoes other than barefoot shoes, the toe box is usually more or less pointed/tapered, which takes up room at the front, so Maria has to choose a larger size. In this new Up model, the toe box actually felt like it had almost too much room for Maria’s foot. There is plenty of width and height! 👌😊
